UAE: Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum called UAE astronauts Hazza Al Mansoori and his back-up Sultan Al Neyadi and expressed their country’s pride in their space mission

The call came just 15 days before the first Emirati to-date makes a historic trip to the International Space Station (ISS).

Mansoori and Neyadi have entered a 15-day isolation phase in preparation for the launch to the International Space Station on September 25.

The Dubai Crown Prince tweeted photos of the farewell ceremony organised for the two astronauts as they left Moscow yesterday, heading to the city of Baikonur in Kazakhstan, where the blast-off will take place.

The two astronauts have completed their training at the Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Centre.
